Sunday Afterthoughts May 2nd

Yesterday we kicked off our new series called "OPEN" - Noisy Hymns, Ego-Music, and How God Sees Your Worship. I am pumped about the things God has laid on Pastor Jeff's heart for this topic. I think that it is timely especially in today's culture of "church shopping". We have made worship so much about ME and MY "preferences" as if THEY EVEN MATTER, that we have replaced TRUE "HANDS AND FEET" worship for a "time of singing", in-which afterwards has no affect on the way we live our lives in our work place, our schools, families and communities . I know that my heart is going to be stretched on this topic as your worship pastor and I am asking God to do a brand new work in me thru this series.

My creative team knocked it out of the park for our set design this month. We put in many more hours than normal but the end result was remarkable.

Leeland's new song "Follow You" is exactly what this sermon series is all about. It will be song several times this month for sure.

I challenged our team yesterday to leave it all out on the stage. Give it everything you've got, and they definitely did. I love this worship team. Their passion to see God lifted high. I love watching each one of them worship their heart out and be moved by God during every service. Its contagious. But it doesn't stop there. When they worship God, they are moved beyond the song and they live it out. Love you guys!!!

Sunday Set List
Open Up The Gates - PlanetShakers
Glory To God - Fee
I Surrender - Kim Walker
Follow You - Leeland/Brandon Heath

Sunday AfterThoughts!

Yesterday was wonderful.

Jesus was lifted high and people are finding financial freedom.

Joe Sangle ended our series 21 on the topic of finances. Helping people become financially free. He did a great job and we have already heard stories of people making steps into financial freedom.

This series really really has the potential to change our lives forever. If we will apply the 5 weeks, then our lives will not be the same. It does us no good if we don't apply the principles. I encourage everyone to pick up the complete "series in a can" of 21. Re-listen to it and make some life changes. So Good. Great job Jeff on putting those messages together and not being afraid to challenge.

I love that as a church we are not afraid of any topic. There are so many REAL LIFE issues that REAL people are dealing with and they are finding freedom in Jesus every week. As Tim Stevens said, "the church is providing answers for questions the world is NOT asking". I love that we get to partner with Jesus in helping people life and becoming free in REAL areas.

Our new series WILD GOOSE CHASE starts next week. Invite people thru this video below. Email it, facebook it, myspace it. LOL.

The Wild Goose Chase from Jeff on Vimeo.

Grab a bunch of rave cards and invite your friends.

May we continue to make HELL less populated!!

Sunday AfterThoughts!

it was a great weekend around here at element church. Brad and Danielle Nyght rolled in late friday night in preparation for the worship team auditions. Saturday we had an eventful day with rehearsals for sunday and rehearsals for auditions. I must say that for our first time doing auditions, it went pretty well. We had a good group of people show and they all did a great job. Thank you to all who came out. It means a lot to me that you would be a part of what God is doing here at element church. Brad and Danielle were an incredible contribution to the audition process, for flow, structure, evaluations, etc. It was a blessing to have them apart of this. I am looking forward to the additions we will make here at element worship.

WOW has it snowed. It started friday and is still going today, monday. Probably a good 6 - 12 inches on the ground. It has been a blast. I love when it snows like this.

We really had a great worship time yesterday. We have made huge headway in our sound. I really feel like its very close to what it needs to be. Brad and Danielle were able to join us for worship, which always a good time. I asked for them to do a complete evaluation on me as a worship leader, and it was so good. They really pushed me in some areas that I feel like are going to help take element worship to that next level. I love learning. I read 1 kings a couple of days ago, which has become a common phrase around here, but this weekend I really felt this. Chapter 3 vs 7, "Now, O Lord my God, you have made me king instead of my father, David, but I am like a little child who doesn't know his way around." I have a long ways to go but I am humbled to be a part of this team.

Jeff really did tackle probably one of the most uncomfortable topics in the american church. We almost opted out of it, but Jeff pushed thru and delivered well. We had great response, "that's just what I needed to hear", "thanks for being bold", etc. Glad he chose to stick it out. He tackled the issue of self-control, living disciplined PHYSICALLY, mentally, and spiritually and how they all relate.

Brad and Danielle decided to stick around one more day. We had so much fun yesturday afternoon. After eating at Guadala-HOLL-A (curtis's tag for the mexi resturaunt), lol, we hit up walmart for some ingredients. Brad Nyght actually made ice cream out of the freshly fallen snow. I must admit i was blown away. Never knew you could do that. I was a really fluffy version of icecream but tasted amazing. I have a new thing to make now. After watching some office episodes we sat down and introduced the world of LOST to Brad and Danielle. We popped in the first disc and watched 4 episodes. They are hooked, SO GOOD TO SEE!!!

Thats it, we had a great weekend and now its time for a huge monday and a good week of planning exciting things here at element.

We had a great sunday today.

We continued our series 21 with the topic of SIN today. I really felt like worship and the message connected with everyone today. Worship really setup this message thru the lyrics in the songs. Jeff nailed it on SIN today. Very powerful story illustrations. YOU REALLY WANT TO HEAR THIS ONE!!

I am very excited about our 1st annual worship team auditions. I know there is a lot of talent in our church and I am looking forward to seeing who God brings us. Remember its this Saturday. Please email or call the church office if you have any questions.

sunday afterthoughts

Man I am not on the blogging role lately, I am trying to be better. Jeff just stills all my ideas. LOL. J/K

Today was a good day. The band not it out of the park. Great job guys. I hope you all realize how much this team invests into making worship the best it can be. Not only do they give their time on sunday mornings but they have personal practice time and then invest 3.5 hours on thursday night. So go team.

Again we are continuing the search for another electric guitar player if anyone is out there. If you know of someone have them email me at adam@elementweb.net.

Jeff's one prayer was Lord Make Us ALIVE. Incredible message today. This is element's heartbeat and pours through each of us on staff. That God would bring life to the Lost in cheyenne and pour life into every church. Jeff way to go, so proud to serve under you. YOU MAKE ME PROUD, SON. LOL. (inside joke, had to be there).

Man once again we had movie time technicalities. We luckily ended service a little short this week, but if we would have went any longer we would have been interrupted by the amazing theatrical previews.

IT WAS SO HOT TODAY. I thought my face was going to melt away. O MY WORD. When the lights are on and the Haze is going it creates a 110 degree environment. Hope we get that fixed.

Going to miss everyone this week. Amber and I will be in Connecticut and New York City visiting Amber's home town. Looking forward to being out east again. I have never been to New York, so I am looking forward to all that we will get to experience.

Looking forward to getting back to the drawing board. We have some fun SURPRISES for you all in our next series. Can't wait.

Alright off to play ULTIMATE FRISBEE,

sunday afterthoughts

Wow,
What a great day today. We are so excited around here at Element, with what God is doing through this people. Today Jeff announced what is in the future for Element Church, read about that here. We are approaching a new facility, where we will be able to expand the ministry of Element Church. This is a very scary and such an exciting time here at Element. As you know, we will never be just about a building, while forsaking the city. We feel this only enables our influence in the city. This enables us to make more of an impact and this make God's name more known in our city. Great things.

Today I did a new original called "The Heart of a Warrior", which was inspired by Jeff 's message last series on climbing the mountain, going where very few men are willing to go. Props to the worship team for making that song great.

Sunday Setlist 4-27-08
Forever - Chris Tomlin
Blessed be your name - Matt Redman
Faithful - Fee
Yearn - Adam Cruz
The Heart of a Warrior - Adam Cruz

Sunday Afterthoughts

Elementers. What a beautiful day it is outside. This is amazing. I am so ready for spring. Amber and I are huge frisbee fanatics so bring on the nice weather. Which by the way starting within the next few weeks we are going to start a 2:00pm Sunday Afternoon ULTIMATE FRISBEE tradition. If you are interested send me an email at adam@elementweb.net with your name and phone number so we can put this thing together, we're very excited.

We had a great day today at Element. Jeff did a wonderful job talking about Hell, today. The reality and finality of eternity is so heavy. We carried Jeff out in a casket as a sermon illustration, that was really powerful. Watch the video once I get it online.

Worship was good today, which, ha is so weird to say cause I lead it, but I really felt you all engaged in the songs and God's presence was heavy in the room. We busted out a little AC/DC to open the service. That was fun. Jen great job on vox this week, you sounded great, Morgan, nice work on rockin the bass lines, (morgan had a tuff bass line in our opening song, but rocked it), Bryant nice work rockin the set. Picking up on my rushes of chorus and verse lines, HA, and Nathan, nice work on electric this week. Nathan typically plays acoustic, and by the way is a great guitar player, but today I had him rock some electric on his new VOX amp.

We will be adding a new musician this week, Chris, who plays electric guitar. A very solid guitar player, you will all enjoy having him as an addition.

Alright I'm out, we have friends coming into town.

Set List for Sunday April 13th
Hells Bells - AC/DC
Salvation is here - United
Faithful - Steve Fee
Mighty to Save - United
Jesus paid it all - Kristian Stanfill
Marvelous Light - Charlie Hall

sunday afterthoughts

Hey e: peeps and e: followers, here is the update from sunday.
Woke up at 5:30am in our NEW HOUSE. Yes Amber and I are official home owners. We are very excited and cheydan loves having a back yard now. We are in the process of painting and some small construction but it will be a very nice place for Amber and I to call home. I will post pics soon.

366 in service yesturday. I think we have maxed out our facility. We are really hoping that our 3rd service "e:coustic" will help us continue to reach more in the cheyenne area. 5 people gave their lives to Christ today. I just cant get enough of that. People are making the greatest decisions they will ever make in life and its so exciting to be a part of it.

We opened our new series HEROES: ordinary people living extraordinary lives. Very excited about this series. Jeff opened with the story of Esther. "Perhaps we were created for just such a time as this", I love that. Our theme song this month is "God of this city" by Chris Tomlin off the new Passion cd. It is the heart beat of Element Church. We truely believe that God is not finished with Cheyenne. There is no God like our God and Greater things have yet to come. Love it.

I had some fun with our set design this month. I will post pics next week. We all want to be the city Hero and God has called us to be heroes of the Kingdom. So I built 2 skycrapers and 2 basic building that had light shining through. and some chain link with traffic light to create a city feel. It was a lot of work but well worth it. We thought they turned out good.

Cheyenne Egg Drop is going to be huge. 2 weeks away, 25,000 eggs and a ton of kids. Thats how we roll. We meaning all of you have to promote this huge. We ordered 2000 rave cards. This sunday seriously grab a handfull of 50 if you can. Give them to your kids to hand out at school. Leave them everywhere. We want to rock cheyenne.

I loved our worship set this week. We have had the privelage of having Nathan join us on guitar which has added a lot to our sound. One MAJOR problem this week was at 5:45am I got a call from BRYANT our drummer that day and he informed me that he would not make it due to a search and rescue mission with the AF. I was freaking out. I told jeff when I got to the church "I have bad news" lol, but BRIAN our other drummer came out with out rehearsing and rocked the set. Way to go Brian. I was really excited about Bryant playing this week cause he was ON. He hasn't played for a few weeks, worked hard this week and then got called in. Total bummer.

Exciting times around here at Element. I am sorry for all of you who don't live in cheyenne and attend Element cause "God is doin it, God is doin a nu thang, YO..." lol

Sunday AfterThoughts December 30th

Wow I am really tired! Sundays are a tiring day for staff and our setup team at Element. Today was a great close for "Believe". I don't know that there was a better way to end it then the way we did. Jeff's message was so good. A great way to bring all back around again. His big idea was that Jesus came to take away our excuses! MUST LISTEN!

216 in church today. 10 first time guests. I was really surprised we had that many because it looked way down.

I am pumped about January. We are really stepping things up, stretching ourselves, taking some major risks, doing some cool set designs with tension fabric, and it will be so good. We are starting our series Deal or No Deal about godly finances. Remember we are offering a free financial seminar, so pick up your tickets at church or on our website atwww.elementweb.net.

I tried some new things in worship today. We played with a loop behind us for the first time this sunday during Sing to the king, it was fun, and felt like it added some dynamics. Also, one thing that I really want to be about here at Element Church is training people to do what I do. If all we do is keep our talent internally for ourselves I think we are missing the full picture. God gives us talents to help teach and train others. So I want to help people become confident and use their giftings. Anyways I had our keyboardist lead out 2 of our songs today. She did a good job. I am looking forward to a team of leaders. It would be great if I didnt lead any songs on a sunday because of great worship leaders that God raises up from within. We want to do this in all our areas of ministry. Tech, Graphics, Videos, Connections, Outreach, ect.

Again I thought Jeff did a great job closing out "BELIEVE". We are now going to be offering our complete series sermons for sale in a nicely packaged disc container. Check that out stating this sunday. At the end of each series we will package all of the sermons in the containers and have them for sale.

Alright have a great new year, I will post again later this week after the holidays.

Set List for sunday 12-30-07
My Savior Lives- New Life Worship
Here is our King- David Crowder Band
My Glorious/Sing to the King- H214 Vertical Music
Indescribable- Chris Tomlin
God of Wonders- Third Day

Sunday Afterthoughts

Today was a great day. I know that I say that a lot. But there was something very special about today. Things just gelled today. Not that they havnt before but again there was just a great vibe today. God's presence was evident, worship just flowed and there was a great heart beat of worship to the throne today. Way to go worship team. Jeff delivered a great word, in fact, I dare to say its one of his best. A great close to the "IT" series. Several hands were in the air for first time decisions. I am blown away, when you just give a simple invitation people come running. They are ready and just need to be asked and encouraged. About double the hands went up for people reconsidering where they are at with their relationship with God. It was just a great great service all the way through.

BIG ANNOUNCEMENT: we have maxed our capacity at Element Church in the one theater we are in. So through much prayer and exhausting every option, we excitingly announce that we are going to 2 services in two weeks on Dec. 2nd. Service times will be at 9 and 10:30am. We are looking forward to this to keep reaching people for Christ. God keeps bringing them so we want to continue to make room for them. Our volunteers have been so supportive. In fact many of them have said that they will serve both services if we need them. AWESOME. God is good.

We closed out our first series officially as Element Church, and are doing a 2 week mini series called "Thanks:Giving". And then jumping right into a 4 week Christmas series called "Believe", which I am very excited about.

God is doing some great things around here and we are always blown away that God keeps choosing to use us.

Set design today was simple and clean. Our closing core value today was "allegiance" (which was planned over 2 months ago) and it just so happened to fall on Veterans Day, SO GOD LIKE HA. So we ordered a 10 ft X 6ft Flag that flew in the center of the stage with two smaller flags on the sides. Also during a transitional video we mounted 2 fallen soldier displays on the stage. It was very symbolic of our Allegiance to God. EVERYONE SHOULD LISTEN TO TODAYS MESSAGE. www.elementweb.net then click on "Watch and Listen" (wont be online until tuesday). I will post pictures tommorow afternoon.

Set List:
Awesome is the Lord Most High - Chris Tomlin
Famous One - Chris Tomlin
Beauty of the Lord - Jared Anderson (Desperation Band)
Oh Lord Most High - Joel Hatcher
It's all about you/Jesus Lover of my Soul - Passion

Set design last week

Here are a few pics of our set design last week. Sorry it took so long to get up. We talked about the core value of significance and how we all crave to be significant. So we grabbed some card board cut outs and posters of those in society who are or have been at one time significant.
